economic activity
Economic activity is the activity of our economy.
Economic activities are exchanges of materials and labour between people; they may be activities such as smelting, cutting, machining, welding, painting, assembly, transporting, storing, retailing, and buying. These economic activities comprise the economic process.
Economic activities occur in the process of some people producing and distributing things, and other people consuming those things; that is, purchasing and using them. The things that are produced and consumed during the activity of our economy are its products: goods and services.
The production of both goods and services for consumption necessarily involves the use of the resources provide to us by the Earth and its environments: the things we make and do as the activity of our economy are based on those resources.
